Gardening with Ease® was founded by a husband and wife team, Sheila and Don Swartz, the owners of Life with Ease®. With previous careers in health care, they started Life with Ease in 1999 to help people help themselves.

The mission of Life with Ease was broad, to provide products to help people prevent injury and live with injury or impairment. In finding products for this mission they organized a collection of Ergonomically designed garden tools. Since they were among the first (if not the first) to group gardening products in this manner, this division of "Life with Ease" grew very rapidly. In order to meet the demand for these ergonomic garden tools they decided to begin "Gardening with Ease". As a subsidiary of Life with Ease®, Gardening with Ease® shares the same shopping cart software, with certified 128 bit SSL security, and adheres to the same Better Business Bureau Online privacy policies.
